Makarsankranti is celebrated on 14th January. Makarsankranti means the Sunentering Capricorn. Makarsankranti is also called “Utaryan” . On this day the sunsets in a northerly direction. On this day, The Sun God came to his son Shanidev’shouse leaving back his anger. So on Mankarsankranti , bathing in sacred river ,giving Gaudan , Gaupuja , donating Jaggery and Mamara Ladu ,etc is consideredauspicious and one gets a thousand times virtue . Thus it is said in the scriptures. Inthis, Gaudan is considered excellent. In this institute also, every year on the day ofMakarsankranti, different donors feed the cows with laddu . Every year we getdonors of Laddu for this day.
